May 20th and 21st 2023

Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sunday:10am to 4pm

We at Illiana Fiber Festival are a group of knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers and dyers who started talking about the lack of fiber festivals in our area.

After some discussion, this fiber festival was born. Our goal is to bring together fiber artists from all over the region.

We represent people from all walks of life; different religions, traditions, nationalities, cultures, and beliefs. We all have one thing in common, a love of all thing's fiber related.

We are thrilled to have you with us.

Christina Drennen Coghill

Instructor

I am an all over fibery addict! I started my adventures into the fibery world as a young girl. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 3 or 4 years old. I loved crocheting blankets and scarves, hats, and wash clothes as a youngster. As a teenager in the 80's I feel in love with neon colors. To this day I am still in love with bright, vibrant, intense colors! As a young mother I started back into crocheting, but then discovered spinning as a festival. I adored spinning! After several years of spinning I decided I had to do something with all of my hand spun yarns. So I taught myself to knit. Then I decided I wanted to learn to process my spinning fibers. So I started buying fleeces. I loved the natural earthy tones of the fibers I was scouring, but longed for my Neon Days. I then discovered Redding Method Dyeing. I enrolled in the courses and was taught to dye in an unconventional way that produced the bright vibrant colors that I longed for. I then decided to teach others my love of all things fibery. I find that my students teach me as much as I am teaching them. I live in Northwest Indiana with my husband and two crazy Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. I have been blessed to have taught classes at Michigan Fiber Festival, Wisconsin Sheep and Wool, Jay County Fiber Arts Festival, Hoosier Hills, The Blue Mountain fiber Festival, along with the Green Castle Fiber Fest.
